Class Description

‘Nouveau’ means new or modern and this is exactly what this class delivers. Burlesque Nouveau is a contemporary twist on classic burlesque. Nouveau will take students through new ways of movement to modern music. This class caters for those with some dance and/or burlesque experience as well as those who may be ‘nouveau’ to burlesque themselves. Nouveau students begin to turn their focus to the intricacies of costume play and strip tease, whilst developing stage presence through audience interaction and characterisation. The focus of this class will be in creating performance art pieces that are sure to be crowd pleasers. This involves incorporating more slightly complex props such as chairs and canes, taking your performance to the next level. Nouveau routines are set to modern songs from a variety of genres which focus on harnessing your inner Queen of Tease! *Nouveau students will be presented with the opportunity to perform and/or have their routine recorded at the completion of the term. *Performances and recordings are purely optional and is the choice of each individual Nouveau Diva.
